Doris Rogers died peacefully Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at her home in Show Low, Arizona following a lengthy illness. She was 81. She was born on June 24, 1926 in Show Low to her parents, the late William Henry and Nancy (Whipple) Lewis. Doris married her husband, Herman Richard Rogers, on April 24, 1952 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together they raised 4 children. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family and was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to her posterity. Throughout her life, Doris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served her Ward Family in various callings. Her gentle humble ways will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Nathalyn "Lyn" Alexander of Show Low, Arizona; 3 sons: Richard Rogers (Sandra) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Mark Rogers (Ardyce) of Phoenix, Arizona, James Rogers (Dana) of Gilbert, Arizona; 3 sisters: Hilda Frost of Tempe, Arizona, Rilla Caldwell of Lakeside, Arizona, Viola Adams Reed of Snowflake, Arizona; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman on December 9, 2005 as well as 2 sisters, Ella McCleve and Marbry Vance. The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Show Low. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will follow at the Show Low Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her eternal companion, Herman.
