Shirley Hansen Rieck died peacefully at her home in Snowflake, Arizona on January 8, 2010 following a lengthy illness. She was 84 years old. Shirley was born on June 10, 1925 in Lakeside, Arizona to the late Junius and Mollie Norton (Beadle) Hansen. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had, at 3 different times, served as the ward Relief Society President. Shirley was the epitome of charity, as she was always serving others. She was a "true" latter-day saint; always striving to be Christ-like in all that she did and said. She and her husband, Carl, were married 66 years ago in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her long life, she was a devoted homemaker to her family and found great joy in serving their needs. She will be missed by many, but none will miss her more than those that called her wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Shirley is survived by: her husband, Carl Rieck of Snowflake, Arizona; 3 children: Mary Meneses of Snowflake, Arizona, Carl L. (Carmen) Rieck of St. George, Utah, Jerry Lynn (MaryAnn) Rieck of Chandler, Arizona; 2 brothers: Marion Ray Hansen, Junius Elwood Hansen; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
