Frank Rasheed

Frank was born in Fairhope, Alabama on November 04, 1943 to the late Viola Phillips Barnes who preceded him in death along with stepfather John Barnes Sr. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, James, John, Raymond and an infant brother. His family moved from Alabama to Detroit, Michigan in the late 1940's where they lived much of the time with his Aunt, Mary Moncrief, the matriarch of the family. Frank lived most of his life in Detroit where he grew up, lived, owned his own restaurant, met his wife, and began his family. An adventurer in his own right he moved his family to Arizona over nineteen years ago, shortly after selling the family restaurant. His wife Therese Rasheed, son Frank Rasheed, and daughter Sheri Rasheed currently reside in Holbrook, AZ. Frank was an artist, a lover of music (particularly the vinyl), motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed life as a whole. He especially enjoyed time spent at the ranch with family and visiting relatives. Frank was also a member of the B.P.O.E. #2450 Holbrook, Arizona. Frank served as the General Manager of Jerry's Restaurant in Holbrook for nineteen years where he touched the lives of many and took great pride in his business and the people who worked with him. He received numerous awards for his service including the Clean Restaurant and Master Manager Awards. Frank is survived by his wife of 27 years, Therese Rasheed; sons Frank Rasheed Jr. (Chimere) and Brendan James Rasheed; his daughters Lisa Rasheed Miller (James), Sheri Rasheed (Tony Askew), and Rhianna Rasheed Scott (Aaron). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren (Jasmine, James Jr; Van, Alesia, Lisa, Da Vonta', Roger, Sheri; and Torrian); Siblings Charles White (Carolyn), Melvin Nahzee El-Amin (Cindy), Fannie Eason (Charles), Clarence Barnes, Vanessa Andrews (John) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Frank would say "Don't fuss over me." with a huff. But it always meant "thank-you and I love you, too." He greatly appreciated the care and concern of all those who sent out their prayers and concerns while he was still with us.
