Zina Porter

Zina Porter of Lakeside, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 16, 2009, with her son and daughter-in-law at her side. She was 105 years old! Zina was born June 13, 1904 in Oaxaca, Sonora Mexico to the late George and Phoebe (Johnson) Scott. She moved to Arizona from her native Mexico 97 years ago. She worked throughout her long life as a homemaker, devoting herself in loving service to her family. Zina is survived by a son, George Terris Porter (Judith) of Lakeside, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Porter. Her funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Heber Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (right off of Hwy 260 in Heber) where the visitation will begin 1 hour prior at 9:00 A.M. The concluding service and interment will follow at The Heber Cemetery.
