Jimmie Lee Petersen, age 72, passed away May 16, 2008 in Clay Springs, Arizona. Born June 14, 1935 in Snowflake, Arizona to Mary Blanche Peterson and Thorwald Woodrow Petersen. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jimmie worked for ADOT for 27 years; in the Sign and Striping Department as a mechanic and retired in 1997 as a Highway Technician. He also worked in the logging industry as a heavy equipment operator. Jimmie loved to farm and was a lifetime member of the Arizona Rangers. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Marian Lawrece; 10 children, Jimmy Roy Petersen, Judy L. (David) Wood, Mary Arvilla Granato, Doyce "DoDo" Woodrow (CoCo-Coleen) Petersen, Lenna S. Wilkie, Violet J. Knight, Arley D. Petersen, Mary Esther Petersen, Blanche Irene Petersen, Lawrence Woodrow Petersen; 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Louise (Bill) Barrows, Clara (Lloyd) Reidhead, Thora Perkins, Janet (Albert) Crandell. A visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Owens Mortuary 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 21 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Clay Springs Ward Building with a visitation 1 hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Clay Springs Cemetery.
