Paul Robert Pancher, Jr. died peacefully, Sunday, November 2, 2008 at RTA Hospice and Palliative Care in Lakeside, Arizona following a lengthy illness. He was 69. Paul was born on December 9, 1938 in Compton, California to the late Paul Robert and Kathleen (Busby) Pancher, Sr. He was a crane operator for many years in the construction industry. He and his sweet wife, Shirley, moved to Heber, Arizona after his retirement 9 years ago. In his younger years, Paul served his country by enlisting in The United States Army during the Vietnam War and received veterans status after his honorable discharge. Paul was a lifetime member of the NRA and an avid gun collector throughout his life and was known, by many, to be an expert marksman. But more importantly, Paul was a loving husband who adored his wife. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Reichard) Pancher of Heber, Arizona; 4 children: Cynthia Rettig of Pacifica, CA, Paula Becker (Bruce) of San Diego, CA, Scott Rettig of Hesperia, California, Paul Richard Pancher (Tamera)Fall Brook, California; 2 sisters: Samantha Madsen (Wayne Olgin) of Simi Valley, CA, Peggy James (Jack) of White City, Oregon; 3 grandchildren: Cole Pancher, Carly and Caida Pancher. Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Overgaard Baptist Church in Overgaard.
