Arthur David Nelson

Arthur "Buddy" David Nelson, of Concho, passed away January 21, 2009 at RTA Hospice & Palliative Care in-patient unit in Lakeside. He was 85. Buddy was born September 1, 1923 in Chehalis, Washington to the late Chester & Sylvia (Barnhorse) Nelson. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. serving during WWII. Prior to him serving his country, he played for the White Socks Minor League team. In 1979 he opened the Idle Spurs Steakhouse in Concho, operating the business until 2006. Buddy is survived by his long-time companion; Rosie Reed of Concho, 2 nephews & 1 niece of Washington. He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Fink. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the San Raphael Catholic Church, Hwy 180 A, Concho, Arizona. Interment to follow in the Concho Cemetery with Military Honors.
