Alice June Midkiff

Alice June Midkiff died, Friday, July 31, 2009, peacefully at her Concho, Arizona home following a lengthy illness with her husband at her side. She was 84 years old. Alice was born on June 13, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to the late William Isaiah and Alice Emily (Chamberlain) Prout. She moved to Arizona in 1953 from California. She worked as a registered nurse throughout her working career. In addition to her work as a registered nurse she also was an excellent homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She is survived by: her husband, Robert Allen Midkiff of Concho, Arizona; son, Robert Midkiff of Show Low, Arizona; 2 daughters: Merrily Lathrop (Vince) of St. Johns, Arizona, Melody Blake of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren: Scott Midkiff, Laura Donavan (Adrian), James Midkiff (Alissa); great-granddaughters: Katelyn Midkiff, Emily Midkiff, Madelyn Donavan and one more on the way. Alice was preceded in death by a son, Richard Allen Midkiff and a brother, Williard Prout. The memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 701 S. 8th Avenue in Show Low. Immediately following the service family and friends are warmly invited to a luncheon that will be held right at the church to continue in her celebration.
