Jean Olive McCray

January 20, 1928 — October 25, 2008

Jean Olive (Marble) McCray peacefully departed this life on Saturday, October 25, 2008, surrounded by her children. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, D. Lee McCray and two brothers, John and Charles Marble. Her survivors include her sister, Shirley Shumaker; brother, Wilfred Marble; sisters-in-law, Betty and Eloise Marble; children, Carol (Ralph) Haddock, Shirlee (Kelly) Willis, Lynnette (Andy) Barlow, Lee McCray, Marcia (Brent) Starr, Kellee (Casey) Wood; 36 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Jean was born in Rising Sun, Indiana on January 20, 1928 to John W. and Ava Marie Marble. She is the oldest of five children. She moved to Tucson, AZ at age 17 and married D. Lee McCray when she was 18 years old. They have been residents of Snowflake, AZ since 1951. Jean worked as a volunteer tour guide at the Freeman Pioneer Home. She also served as a temple worker for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in both Mesa and Snowflake for many years. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday November 1, 2008 at the Snowflake Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9th. S. 2nd W. Snowflake, AZ, with a visitation beginning at 8:30AM. Interment will follow in the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery, Snowflake, AZ.
