Ada Alice McBride

Ada Alice McBride, 97, of Show Low, went to be with Jesus and her family in the early dawn of June 22, 2007. Ada was born September 28, 1909 in Blanco, New Mexico, the oldest daughter of Francis and Alice Spears, but she is Arizona's own. Her great grandparents migrated to Arizona in 1885. They and her grandparents, parents, siblings, spouses and children all contributed in humble ways to help lay the foundation for the Arizona we enjoy today. Ada is survived by her sister, Arizona Lepley of Fernley, NV; 2 sons, Mike McBride of Phoenix, and Don McBride of Show Low; 1 daughter, Joyce McBride of Show Low; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who will greatly miss her humor, spunky wisdom and unconditional love. She is preceded in death by 2 husbands, Jess Gentry and John R. McBride, two daughters, Ada May Gager and Elsie Rose Gilbert; as well as a son, James Franklin Gentry. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 10:00 Am at the Show Low Cemetery. Dave Sherman of The Salvation Army will be officiating.
