Morjorie Lupher, 92, a Pioneer of Woodruff, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008 in Snowflake, of age-related complications. Morjorie, the daughter of Elmer & Lois Gardner was born March 30, 1916 in Woodruff, and lived the majority of her life there. She had four siblings: Ethel, Arthur, Melvin and Ollie all who have preceded her in death. We can imagine the joyful reunion as Morjorie's arrival made their family circle complete. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dedicated her life to family, church-callings, and service to her fellowman. She was known for genealogy service and she had published a book called "Woodruff the Butte-ful". Morjorie is survived by 4 children; Terry Turley of Mesa, AZ, Merla Sauwen of Woodruff, AZ, Leilani Waggerby of Gilbert, AZ; Kathleen Acuna of Salem, Oregon; 21 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of her youth, Melvin S. Turley; her second husband of 47 years, Rowland M. Lupher; daughter, Janet; 2 step sons, Kenneth and Ralph Rich. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday June 7, 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Woodruff Chapel, Woodruff, Arizona with a visitation 1 hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Woodruff Cemetery.
