Our loving mother and grandmother, Ida Tessay Lupe, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Copper Mountain Inn Care Center in Globe, Arizona surrounded by those whom she loved the most, her family. She was 79. Ida was born on April 3, 1929 in Cibecue, Arizona to the late Raymond and Ethel (Dazen) Tessay. Ida married Mowell Lupe, Sr. and, in the mid 1960's, joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has since been a faithful member of it's Cibecue Branch. Ida's and Mowell's marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of The Church and, over the years, she has received an abundance of joy serving The Lord within the walls of His Holy House. Her husband preceded her in death in May of 1992. She was a devoted homemaker to her family throughout her life, and lived to serve their needs. This sweet lady will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ida is survived by 11 children: Deoma Henry (Jonathan), Iva Jean Lupe, Regina Yazzie (Melvin), Vickie Lupe, Vanae Green (Ernest), Mowell Lupe, Jr. (Phyllis), Leonard Lupe, Yvette Nachu (Timothy), Brian Lupe, Jerrick Bonito (Valentina), David Bonito (Maxine); 1 brother, Abner Tessay, Sr. (Galena); 1 sister, Gussie DeHose (Levi); 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. The wake at the family home in Cibecue will begin 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 20, 2008. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Cibecue Branch Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow at the Open Range Cemetery in Cibecue.
