Pamela Ann Lugowski

Pamela Ann Lugowski of Show Low, Arizona, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the age of 60. This sweet angel of a lady was born on September 9, 1948 in Pierre, South Dakota to the late Peter Melvin and Verna Mae (Haufle) Billington. She met and married the love of her life, Richard George Lugowski on November 12, 1966 in Golden Valley, Minnesota and most recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary together. She moved to Arizona in 1988 from Iowa with her family. At that time, she and her husband opened and operated Lugowski & Associates, an insurance company that specialized in securities, annuities and tax shelters that were specifically catered to school teachers. They literally helped secure the retirements of many hundreds, if not thousands, of teachers throughout the State of Arizona. From their company's inception, she served as its president and thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone around her. Pam was a natural-born caregiver and, for the past several years, she volunteered her time as a caregiver to many hundreds of patients at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care in Lakeside. Many revered her as their own "guardian angel", as she truly looked angelic with her naturally pure-white hair. Her Christ-like charity will truly be missed by all whom ever had the privilege of working with her at the hospice unit. She was an avid gardener and grew beautiful flowerbeds throughout her property; making her home "a little piece of heaven on earth." Pam also was a skilled oil painter and has many of her paintings decorating the walls of her home as well as the homes of others. She enjoyed painting so much that, many times she pulled out easels for herself as well as for all of her grandchildren to paint together. Pam absolutely adored people and she will be greatly missed by all who called her friend, but none will miss her more than those she loved the most...her family. Pam is survived by her husband, Richard Lugowski of Show Low, Arizona; daughter, Richelle Donnelly (Gary) of Scottsdale, Arizona; son, Peter Lugowski (Kim) of Scottsdale, Arizona; 7 grandchildren: Tori Donnelly, Payton Donnelly, McCall Donnelly, Dawson Donnelly, Parker Donnelly, Ally Lugowski and Jack Lugowski. In addition to her parents, Pam was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Diedrich. Visitation will 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona where the Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Mary of The Angels Catholic Church, 1915 S. Penrod Lane in Pinetop, Arizona. Contributions to The White Mountain Hospice Foundation, 1789 W. Commerce Drive, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 have been suggested by her family.
