Charles Bronson Lee, of Cibecue, passed away August 26, 2009 in Phoenix due to injuries he sustained in an auto accident. He was 20. Charles was born June 4, 1989 in Phoenix, AZ to Bronson Lee, Sr., and Juanita Tessay. He was a 2007 graduate of Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, CA where he was the 2007 athlete of the year. He was currently in his sophomore year at Haskell Indian Nation's University in Lawrence, Kansas. Charles was an avid runner and excelled in cross country, basketball, baseball and football. He always had a smile on his face and always put his family first. He was employed as a carpenter at Indian Trades in Cibecue. Charles is survived by his father, Bronson (Jerilyn) Lee of Whiteriver; mother, Juanita Tessay of Cibecue; 6 brothers: Stetson Dean Tessay of Tucson, Bronson Lee, Jr., of Cibecue, Jarrod Raheen Lee of Cibecue, Milak Bryson Lee of Cibecue, Emilio Alias Lee of Cibecue, and Bruce Burnette, Jr., of Whiteriver; 5 sisters: Dashielle Marie Lee of Cibecue, Kasaja Kara Lee of Cibecue, Kaniesha Brooke Lee of Flagstaff, Denee Bronica Lee of Cibecue, and Tennille Burnette of Whiteriver; paternal grandmother, Agnes C. Lee of Cibecue; god parents: Clifford and Norma Dehose of Cibecue; nieces Anaya Emmalita Lee of Cibecue and Emerielle Derica Goldtooth of Tsaile, Arizona as well as many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alexander and Emma Tessay; paternal grandfather, Van Lee and his cousin Dwight Ivins. A 2 day wake will begin at 10:00 AM Friday September 4, 2009 at the family residence 312 Cibecue Rd., Cibecue, Arizona with funeral services to be at the same location 2:00 PM Sunday September 6, 2009 with the burial to be at the Red Mountain Cemetery.
