Frankie Marie Kartchner died quietly at her home in Taylor, Arizona on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. She was 87 years old. Frankie was born, the third of eleven children, on March 1, 1923 to the late Frank Henry and Alice Pearl (Bradfield) Wren in Lakeside, Arizona. She has lived her whole life in the White Mountain area and the past 60 years at her home in Taylor. Frankie was a homemaker throughout her life. She married Sheldon McCleve Kartchner on July 9, 1944 in Pinedale, Arizona while he was on a short leave from his military service. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2002 after nearly 59 years of marriage together. Although she was never able to have children of her own, she enjoyed "spoiling" and spending time with her many, many nieces and nephews. Frankie Marie Kartchner is survived by: her sister, Verginia Jones (Richard) of Taylor, Arizona; brothers: Jerry Allen Wren (Pat) of Joseph City, Arizona, Robert Lee Wren (Patsy) of Woodruff, Arizona and by many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Frankie was preceded in death by 7 of her siblings: Lucille H. Wren, Mark Russell Wren, Mattie Pearl Waddell, Jewel Beth Wren, Arthur Evan Wren, Thomas Hasting Wren and May Ellen Wren. Her funeral service will begin 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Taylor Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 309 W. Willow Lane in Taylor, Arizona where the visitation will be 1 hour prior. Concluding services and interment will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, Arizona as she will be laid to rest along side of her eternal sweetheart.
