Jesus Antonio Iguado, Sr.

March 24, 1943 — November 6, 2009

Jesus Antonio Iguado, Sr., died Friday night, November 6, 2009 at Hospice Compassus in Lakeside, Arizona following a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. He was 66 years old. He was born on March 24, 1943 in Ignacio Saragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Florencio and Delfina (Grijalva) Iguado. He moved to Arizona from his native Mexico nearly 41 years ago. After moving to Arizona, Jesus first worked for Foss Flake as a meat-cutter in Snowflake for sometime before going to work with Pete Shumway and Jim Caldwell on their pig farms. Later, he went to work on Paul Seymour's Ranch nearly 40 miles away from Snowflake. In 1971, he moved to Holbrook, Arizona where he has since resided. While living in Holbrook, Jesus worked for Alan Hensley's Gas Station and later worked as a maintenance man for both the Best Western Motels in Holbrook. The last few years he worked with Clifton Lewis at his Wigwam Motel as a maintenance man, where he quickly became a recognized, friendly face. As a young man, Jesus, joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings over the years. Extremely dedicated to his family, Jesus enjoyed spending as much time with them as he possibly could. This kind, valiant and brave man will truly be missed by the many family members and friends who considered him a hero. Jesus Antonio Iguado, Sr. is survived by his 7 children: Ivonne Iguado of Chandler, AZ, Jesus Antonio Iguado, Jr. (Irene) of Mesa, AZ, Mauricio "Morris" Iguado (Christin) of Peoria, AZ, Erika Yvette Iguado of Holbrook, AZ, Rosanna Iguado of Prescott, AZ, Karen Sophia Iguado of Mesa, AZ, Carla Iguado of Tempe, AZ; 2 brothers: Antonio Iguado (Chena) of Nvo. Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, Arturo Iguado of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico; sister, Jesus Granados (Locadio) of Ignacios Saragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico; 16 grandchildren as well as numberous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Manuel Iguado, Ines Iguado and by 2 sisters: Isabel Iguado de Sandoval and Ramona Iguado. Memorial Services will begin 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Holbrook Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 458 3rd Avenue in Holbrook, Arizona.
