Our sweet and loving mother, Rosie Lee Hollins, died peacefully at her home in Holbrook, Arizona in the early evening hours of Saturday, August 9, 2008, surrounded by many members of her family, whom she so dearly loved. Just the day before, she turned 81 years old. Rosie was born on August 8, 1927 in Louisiana to the late Thomas and Eola Bell (Rawls) Latimore. She received her education in Louisiana but was constantly learning new things throughout her long life's journey, and appreciated all that life had to offer. In 1947, as a young woman, she met and married the love of her life, Willie Hollins, Sr. Shortly after their marriage they moved from their native Louisiana to Arizona and settled in the small lumber town of Maverick. They later moved to McNary, Arizona where they remained 5 years before permanently moving to Holbrook, where she has since resided. Rosie was an excellent cook in the kitchen and always made wonderful meals for her family. She extended her cooking skills beyond the walls of her home and worked several years as a cook for Navajo County. Throughout her residency in Holbrook, Rosie was an active member of St. Johns Baptist Church and had a deep abiding faith in The Lord. Her church family will deeply miss her presence.
