Betty Jo Hobbs

Betty Jo Hobbs died peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the home of her daughter following a lengthy illness. She was 75. Betty Jo was born on March 8, 1932 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma to her parents, the late George Edmond and Dovie May (Crownover) DeShazo. She moved to Arizona 54 years ago from her native Oklahoma. She worked for many years as a caterer at several locations in the state. Betty also worked at Arizona State University for about 12 years where she enjoyed and loved the students. She loved to crochet, she loved her children and her family. Betty was a very religious person. She was preceded in death by: her husband, J.E. Hobbs,Jr. on October 23, 1981; a brother, Allard DeShazo;and a sister, Shirley Flood. She is survived by 4 children: Billie Bechtel, Elizabeth Lozano, Richard Hobbs and Charles Hobbs; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Everett DeShazo, Leonard DeShazo, Arthur DeShazo; and 1 sister, Mary Farris. A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Owens Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona with the services beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the same location.
