Harley H. Hobart entered into paradise on April 16, 2009 surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 18, 1918 in Birchwood, Wisconsin the "Blue Gill Capitol of Wisconsin" in Washburn County. Harley was delivered by his father, James, a country doctor. Harley served in the Army Air Corp (Air Force) during World War II. He was stationed in Naples, Italy in the European Theatre. When he was 30 years old he met and married a Norwegian beauty, June Quinn. Five years later they had their first child, Jane and moved from Baraboo, Wisconsin to Shumway and a year later in 1954, to Show Low. Harley was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union and was a plumber by trade and a fisherman by choice. He leaves behind a legacy of 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren all with Harley's love for fishing. He is survived by sister, Nellie Brokaw; dear friend, Rema McWilliams; 2 sons, Harry Hobart, Whit (Kim) Highbaugh; 5 daughters; Jane (Dennis) Hobart-Kahler; Ruth Chavez; Susan Schroder; Linda Hobart (David Sedillo); Esther (Tom) Velmont; grandchildren; Jennifer Hobart, Harley (Angie) Hobart, Misty (Joey) Watson, Neil (Roberta) Carter, Nate Carter, Brian Carter, Brandy Miller, Sheri (David) Jones, Shannon Chavez, Jesica (Steve) Sanchez, Michael (Marissa) Chavez, Erika (Walter) Bulnes, Gina Garcia; Baylee Schroder, Hilary (Shane) Savage, Jeremy (Rashelle) Highbaugh, Lori (Dennis) Mason;, great-grandchildren Makayla, Chaz, Amara, Faith, Tommy, Trevor, Tommy, Shaney, Luke, Lane, Ryan, Jaxson, Isabella, Riley, Frankie, Vanessa, Jada, Ameliea, Justine and Aubrey. Harley is preceded into heaven by first wife June, second love Dorothy Highbaugh; grandson, Michael Highbaugh; great-granddaughter Hannah; sister Vera Samson; brothers; John, Lloyd, Percy and Lyle. A private service will be held at a later date.
