Hazel A. Hanson

Hazel A. Hanson, age 70, passed away Wed. September 26, 2007 at The Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix. She was born on May 15, 1937 to William Troy and Helen (MacDaniel) Hanson in Overgaard. She was affectionately know as "the first baby of Overgaard" as she was the first baby born there. She graduated from high school in Winslow and she worked in food service throughout her life. She was a member of the Heber 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and served as a Relief Society teacher. She was an expert seamstress and made several of her children's clothes. She also enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful doilies for her family and friends. Hazel is survived by two sons, Troy Lee Van Cleave and Trenton Dale VanCleave; one daughter, Darla Rae Zuck; five grandchildren, Clinton VanCleave, Darrell Willis, Daniel Courtois, Starla Willis and Nick Van Cleave; one great-grandson, Xavier Jones; one sister, Joni Chisum; niece, Stephanie Rife and grand-nieces, Davi, Charla, Shelby, Sheena and Danni. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Troy "Junior" Hanson. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday October 2nd at the Heber Cemetery.
