Delbert Frederick Hackert

Delbert Frederick Hackert, age 86, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Lakeside, Arizona. Del was born September 29, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Fred & Jesse Hackert. He was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, very well read individual until the end. He was a space enthusiast who met Werner Von Braun while working for Air Research. Family was of the most importance in his life. Del is survived by 2 daughters, Penny Ann Bixby (Bob) of Lakeside, AZ, and Pam Ann Schulz of Mesa, AZ; 3 grandchildren; Leslie, Michael and Jennifer; 2 great grandchildren, Courtney and Carter; sister, Janice Butts (Bill) of Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie of 60+ years; 2 brothers Richard & Will; as well as his sister June. Services will be planned for a later date.
