Mary Kathleen Green died quietly on Monday, August 4, 2008 at her home in Lakeside, Arizona. She was 85. She was born on September 7, 1922 to the late Robert and Ruby (Sanders) Neihoff in Maywood, California. She married Buster Green in 1942 in Miami, Arizona, making their home in the Globe-Miami area. In 1959, they moved to Roosevelt Lake to raise their family, while Buster worked for ADOT. The Greens moved to Young, Arizona in 1980 where they lived until 2000. After livings 20 years in Young, they moved to Show Low to be closer to their kids. Kathleen, affectionately called "Cappy" by her family, was a great oil painting artist, seamstress and crafter. Kathleen volunteered for many community projects throughout her life. She enjoyed the out-of-doors, going on picnics, long walks, hunting and fishing. She especially enjoyed working in her yard, where she grew beautiful flowers and vegetables that she canned every year. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. Kathleen will be warmly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends. Kathleen leaves behind, in loving memory, her daughters: Sherry Hammons and her husband, Steve, Cytha Hunt and her husband, Tommy; her sons: Larry Green and his wife, Candy, Robbie Green and his wife, Liz; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, of 57 years, Buster Green, a son, Kenneth Green and her parents, Ruby and Jim Youngblood. Family and Friends are invited to a visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M., Friday, August 8, 2008 at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, 237 S. Sutherland Street in Globe. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 8, 2008 at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel. Interment will follow at the Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Miami, off the Miami-Superior Highway.Local arrangements are being cared for by Owens Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel.
