Harold Wilbert Goertz, Jr.

Harold Wilbert Goertz, Jr., age 77, passed away, with his loving wife and daughter by his side, November 16, 2008 at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center. Harold was born August 26, 1931, in a small farmhouse in Littlefield, TX, to the late Harold and Minnie Goertz. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War. In its early years, Harold worked for the Long Beach Douglas Boeing Aircraft division before becoming a Los Angeles County Firefighter, where he retired. During his retirement Harold found "A little piece of God's Heaven on Earth" here in the White Mountains. He knew immediately that this would be his retirement town. Harold had a very good sense of humor and touched many lives. He will be missed by all those that had the privilege to know him. He is survived by his wife, Nell of Lakeside; daughter, Cindy (Tracy) Truman of Cypress, CA; granddaughter, Kaitie Truman also of Cypress, CA; sisters, Wanda Ingram of Lakewood, CA and Audrey (Dean) Sather of Shady Cove, OR as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elna in 1998. Private services are planned.
