Edna Augusta "Gussie" Gillespie

Edna Augusta "Gussie" Gillespie, 80, died September 24, 2007 in Payson, AZ. "Gussie" was born March 6, 1927, in St. Johns, AZ to Charles & Edna (DeSpain) Stuart. She attended elementary school in Joseph City and graduated high school in Holbrook. On March 6, 1946 she married Virgil L. Gillespie in Gallup, New Mexico. "Gussie" worked at Sprouse Rietz in Holbrook for several years and at the Holbrook Extended Care for about 8 years until retiring in 1990. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. She is survived by brother, A.D. "Choke" Stuart, of Holbrook; 3 nephews, Doyce Virgil Stuart of Holbrook, John David Stuart (Anne) of New Mexico, Dr. Craig Stuart, of Holbrook and a niece, Lonna Jean Stuart Simpson, of Holbrook. "Gussie" is preceded in death by husband, Virgil "Cotton" Gillespie; sister-in-law, Lonnie Stuart. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Joseph City Cemetery, Joseph City, AZ.
