John E. Gerlach

John E. Gerlach, born January 17, 1924 in Logansport, IN, passed away October 1, 2006 in Show Low, AZ. John was a HAM Radio Operator since the age of 16. He was known all over the world as K6BRD. He was a member of the Bald Eagles Squadron Flying club in the White Mountains. John was an avid member of the Tuesday Morning Coffee and Donut group. He was a long time employee of Hughes Aerospace in California. John is survived by his son, Jeff Gerlach (Janet) of Redding, CA and grandchildren Jason and Jerrod, and Shawn and Corey; 3 sisters, Barbara (Keith Carbriener) of South Bend, IN, Marty (Gary) Davis of Gibonsville, NC, and Katy Derby of Phoenix; 2 brothers Larry Derby of Oregon, and Pat Derby of CA. John was preceded in death by his son, John Gerlach, Jr. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
