Curtis Deon Garvin died Friday, December 19, 2008 at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. He was 57 years old. Curtis was born on July 1, 1951 in Clay Springs, Arizona to the late Louis Bryant and Jessie McFern (Jackson) Garvin. He lived in Clay Springs his entire life and worked as a logger for many, many years. Curtis served in the United States Army overseas in Germany for two years. He enjoyed the great out-of-doors and loved animals. He raised livestock including cattle and horses and was well-liked by all dogs. Curtis is survived by: 1 son, Johnathan Garvin of Clay Springs, Arizona; 7 sisters: Maxine Rose of Clay Springs, AZ, Lou Ann Boring of Clay Springs, AZ, Terry Henneberry of Roundup, Montana, Lena Ruth Petersen of Bullhead City, AZ, Bonnie Jean Poteet of Clay Springs, AZ, Pauline Hansford (Harry) of Snowflake, AZ, Phyllis Kay Thomas of Show Low, AZ; 5 brothers: Robert Garvin (Alice) of Clay Springs, AZ, Jimmy Garvin (Sandy) of Linden, AZ, Leon Garvin (Charlette) of Blaine, Arkansas, George Garvin (Ellen) of Clay Springs, AZ and Chris Thomas ( Debbie) of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Bryant Garvin, Gilbert Garvin, Billy Garvin, Paul Thomas as well as 2 sisters: Doreen Bowman and Shelly Brock. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Pinedale Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where the visitation will begin 1 hour prior. Interment will follow at the Clay Springs Cemetery.
