Melvin Gardner of Mesa, AZ passed away on August 6, 2007 at the age of 95 years with Family at his side. He was born on June 7, 1912 in Woodruff, AZ to George Elmer Gardner and Lois Heward Gardner. Melvin was a teacher and an administrator for many years, most of them in Holbrook, AZ. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions of leadership and service. He served missions with his beloved wife in The Temple Visitors Center in Los Angeles, CA, Mexico City Temple, Santiago Chile Temple and The Mesa AZ Temple. He is survived by 1 daughter, Lorraine G. (Lloyd) Smith; 3 sons, Melvin Earl (Margarita), Larry (Gail) and Carwin (Loueen) ; 29 grandchildren, 98 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by his beloved wife of 73 years, Inez Hatch Gardner; daughter, ZinaLois Gardner Rogers and grandson, Kent Rogers. Services will by held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Olive Chapel 451 E. 2nd Ave. Mesa, AZ Saturday August 11, 2007 at 9:00 AM with a visitation 1 hour prior. There will be an additional service Saturday August 11, 2007 in Woodruff, AZ at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel at 3:00 PM. Interment will be in the Woodruff Cemetery.
