Raymond B. Gamble, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 17, 2007 in Tucson, Arizona. Ray was born in Sebring, Florida on January 29, 1922 to Raymond and Ethel Gamble, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma. He is survived by his sister Betty, daughter Kathleen Fordney (Don), son Dennis (Minnie),and son David (Liz), seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He joined the Army in 1942, was stationed in Georgia, and served until 1945. The family moved to Tucson in 1950 from Greenville, PA. After retiring from TUSD, Ray and Norma moved to Show Low, AZ in 1984. While living in Show Low he volunteered at Navapache Hospital where he was the first male president of the Hospital Auxilary. He was an active member of the White Mountain United Medodist Church and a member of the Elks. Ray enjoyed golf, playing pool, going out to eat with friends, was an avid fan of the AZ Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns. A memorial service will be held in Show Low at a later date.
