Beloved Son, Brother, Father, Uncle, Nino, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, Teodoro "Ted" Montoya Gallegos died suddenly on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at his home in Holbrook, Arizona. He was 74. Ted was born on June 8, 1933 in McNary, Arizona to his father, the late Teodoro Kline Gallegos, and his mother, Gabriela "Gabie" D. Montoya Gallegos, who still resides in Holbrook. He attended Snowflake High School where he played football until his graduation in 1952. Ted owned the Exxon for many years before he went to work for ADOT until his retirement. He then went to work for Jack's Union 76, until his most recent employment for El Rancho Café in Holbrook. Ted was proud that he was the Cinco de Mayo King for the Holbrook area. He loved his Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns and Hondah Casino. Ted had a great sense of humor and was a friend to all who will truly miss him. Ted is survived by children of his first wife, Regina Ortega: Darlene (Terrel) Brinkerhoff of Holbrook, AZ, Tony Padia of Phoenix, AZ, and Donna Padia of Phoenix, AZ; Chris Gallegos (deceased - April of 1993), Eddie Gallegos (deceased - December of 2000); children of his second wife, Lupe Rocha: Tammy Gallegos of Flagstaff, AZ, Anthony Gallegos of Holbrook, AZ, Gabriel Gallegos of Holbrook, AZ, Roseann Gallegos of Mesa, AZ, Alex Gallegos of Holbrook, AZ, Lupe (William) Palmer of Flagstaff, AZ; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gilbert (Frances) Gallegos of Holbrook, AZ and Stanley (Alice) Gallegos of Holbrook, AZ; sister, Florence Trujillo of Holbrook, AZ. He was preceded in death by 2 sons: Chris Gallegos in April of 1993 and Eddie Gallegos in December of 2000; 2 sisters, Sally Martinez and Helen Maestas. The Rosary Service will be held Friday, May 9, 2008 at 7:00 PM with visitation beginning at 6:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 212 E. Arizona in Holbrook, AZ. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Church. Interment will be at the Holbrook Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the American Legion Navajo Post #37 following the Interment.
