Deborah Kay Foreman

September 5, 1951 — May 15, 2008

Deborah Kaye "Debby" Foreman died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her Vernon, Arizona home following a lengthy illness. She was 56. Debby was born on September 5, 1951 at the Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois to the late Donald D. and Juanita Sue (Derickson) Shaffer. In her younger years, Debby lived in Anchorage, Alaska where she worked as a licensed nurse practitioner. She enjoyed all that Alaska had to offer and thoroughly enjoyed "The Great Outdoors", especially hunting, fishing and camping. While there, Pope John Paul, II made a visit to the state and Debby literally camped outside, the night before he officiated at a mass, so she could be in attendance. She cherished the rosary beads that he personally blessed for her. Debby moved to Arizona from Alaska about 25 years ago. She was able to continue working in the health care industry as a Registered Nurse for the Arizona Department of Corrections in Florence, Arizona. She married Charles Meredith "Mike" Foreman, III in Phoenix on March 3, 1989. In 1998 she had to retire from nursing due to her health. The following year, she and Mike, moved to Vernon, Arizona, where they have since resided. She is survived by: her husband of 19 years, Mike Foreman of Vernon, Arizona; 2 sisters: Rayna Bailey (Pat) of West Cliff, Colorado, Ronnie Hughes of Phoenix, Arizona; aunt, Betty Matherley (Gilbert) of Phoenix West Valley, Arizona, sister-in-law, Betty Exline of Lakeside, Arizona several nieces and nephews as well as numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held. Contributions to RTA Hospice and Palliative Care, 1789 W. Commerce Drive, Lakeside, AZ 85929 have been suggested by her family.
