Janet Beth Schneider Flake 77, of Snowflake Arizona, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 in her home. She was born September 22, 1931 in McNary Arizona to Elmer Clarence and Winona Barbour Schneider. She married her husband Glen LaVar Flake in 1950 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They made their home in Snowflake where they raised their nine children. Her life's occupation was a homemaker. Her talents as a mother and grandmother were very evident. She was always an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she she served in various positions. In her later years, she served a mission with her husband to the Germany Munich Mission. Among the many things she was known for was here sense of humor, being a friend to so many, and her very kind heart. She will be missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her children, Lance (Kristen) Flake, Margo (Keith) Clouse, Tamara (Doug) Mills, Monty (deceased), Mitzi (Joe) Papa, Joan (Craig) Solomon, Dan (Kirsten) Flake, James (Laura) Flake, and Brad (Tami) Flake. She has numerous posterity with 41 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, James Brookbank, Robert and Jack Schneider; sisters, Mary Hunt, Gussie Peterson. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, by her son, Monty; parents, Elmer and Winona Schneider; brother, Walter Brookbank; sisters, Beatrice Heywood and Claire Ramsey; and Sean Clouse a grandson. The public visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the S. Eugene Flake Memorial Barn in Snowflake, Arizona. The funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Snowflake Main Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Snowflake where additional visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral service. The concluding service and interment will follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
