Richard Franklin Fisher, Jr. of Overgaard, Arizona, our beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, AZ. He was 59. Richard was born on January 9, 1949 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Richard Franklin Fisher, Sr. and Burtis Evelyn (Hancock) Fisher. Richard was affectionately known as "The Bird Man of Overgaard" and he will be greatly missed by anyone and everyone who ever had the privilege to rub shoulders with him. The Bird Man was an excellent handyman and could fix anything with duct tape; including the birds and the bears. He was a skilled electrician by trade and was extremely talented as a handyman and was a Naval Veteran. Richard was an accomplished poker player and a fabulous horticulurist who could make anything grow. He was a natural comedian who could make "a dead man sit up and laugh". This very generous, kind, gentle and loving man will truly be missed. Richard, "The Bird Man", is survived by: his mother, Burtis Jedlicka of Sun City, Arizona; 2 daughters: April Peachey of Phoenix, Arizona, Amanda Peachey of Phoenix, Arizona; 3 sisters: Carolyn Reagan (Tony) of Show Low, Arizona, Sandra Southworth of Phoenix, Arizona, Sherry Hatfield (Keith) of Lakeside, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews as well as other extended family members.
