Gary Feezor

August 30, 1930 — July 14, 2007

J. Gary Feezor, age 76, passed away July 14, 2007 at Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix after a short illness. He was born August 30, 1930 in Mesa, AZ to Charles Frederick and Elizabeth (Macdonald) Feezor. He graduated from Mesa High School in 1948 and then attended Brigham Young University. He met and married the former Elladene Dana in 1950, together they lived in Mesa where he worked as a sanjero for the Salt River Project. During his off hours, if Gary wasn't fishing, he was building houses. In 1978 they moved to the old Solomon Ranch also known as the Camp Catfish Ranch in Shumway. Elladene passed away in 1993 and on July 17, 1993 he married Dixie Claire Dana in Mesa and they have lived in Shumway since. Gary was a active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he, along with his wife, was a Temple worker for the past 8 years. Gary is survived by his wife, Dixie; 3 sons, James Macdonald "Mac" (Kristine) Feezor of Payson, Rod West of Phoenix and Robert (Dayna) West of Taylor; 2 daughters, Darla McMullen of Overgaard and Melinda West of Gilbert; a daughter-in-law, Collette West of Buchanan, VA; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Marilyn Hale of Alpine and Carol Ann Feezor of Eagar. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elladene; one son Gerry West; a daughter, Laurie Robertson; a brother, Sonny Feezor and a sister, Donna Lund. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 24th at the Taylor Love Lake Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a visitation one hour prior to services at the church and from 6-8:00 Monday July 23rd at Owens Mortuary, 84 East 19th South in Snowflake. Burial will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
