With her family at her side, Linda Jane Ellison died in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona. She was 66 years old. Linda was born on June 14, 1943 in Safford, Arizona to her father, the late Loren George Adams and to her mother, Velda (Allen) Adams. She worked as the cook for the Snowflake School District for 23 years and was a friendly and familiar face to many of Snowflake's youth. In addition to her work with the school district, Linda was also a devoted homemaker. Her family was her life and she enjoyed seeing to the individual needs of each member of it. She truly was a loving wife, caring mother and fun grandma. She enjoyed camping with her family at various places throughout the state. Linda also was a "hands-on" person and loved her scrapbooking activities, sewing projects as well as canning food throughout the year. Linda was a faithful member of the Taylor First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was able to serve in various callings over the years. She and her husband, Glen, even served a mission together for The Church in Young, Arizona, where she quickly became a friend to all that she met. Most recently, Linda was able to serve as a temple worker in the Snowflake Temple of The Church and appreciated the beauty and peace of that holy place. Linda is survived by her husband, Glen Lee Ellison of Taylor, Arizona; 6 children: Inndia Hamblin of Taylor, Arizona, Adam Wade Ellison (Lacinda Dawn) of Snowflake, Arizona, Holly Passey (Stephen) of Taylor, Arizona, April Turley (Scott) of Riverton, Utah, John Price Ellison (Heidi) of Snowflake, Arizona, Lexa Lee Chamberlain (David) of Artesia, New Mexico; her mother, Velda Allen Adams of Queen Creek, Arizona; 2 sisters: Lorene Alexander of Prescott, Arizona, Debora "Debbie" Slade (Wallace) of Queen Creek, Arizona; 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren with another one on the way. Visitation for Linda will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th South in Snowflake, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Lovelake Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 700 E. Lovelake Road in Taylor, Arizona. The concluding service and interment will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor. To help her family with her medical expenses, memorial contributions have been suggested. Contributions may be made at Snowflake Mills Credit Union or at the National Bake of Arizona.
