Bernice Palmer Deal

Bernice Palmer Deal, of Lakeside, Arizona, died following a short illness at Show Low's Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center. She was 74 years old. Bernice was born on July 10, 1935 in Cortez, Colorado to the late James Rodney and Barbara (Porter) Palmer. She was a devoted homemaker throughout her life and truly found great joy in the service of her family. She was the caretaker for both her mother and husband prior to their deaths. Bernice also worked in different nursing homes over the years. Bernice was an active member of the Rainbow Lake Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pinetop-Lakeside Stake. She also was a member of the B.P.O.E. and participated regularly in its Emblem Club #337. She was preceded in death by: her father, James Palmer in 1955, her mother, Barbara Porter Palmer in 2005 and by her husband, Robert Lee Deal in 1990 after nearly 26 years of marriage. Bernice is survived by 3 sons: Mark Deal (Ruth) of Taylor, Arizona, Dan Deal (Debbie) of Lakesisde, Arizona, Kenny Deal (Karmen) of Humbird, Wisconsin; step-son, David Deal (Diane) of Snowflake, Arizona; 1 brother, Chris Palmer (Dixie) of Orem, Utah; 3 sisters: Carol Hendrickson (Neil) of Denver, Colorado, Jennie Morris (Jim) of Cortez, Colorado, Ardith Palmer of Orem, Utah; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will start at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Pinetop-Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lakeside, where her visitation will begin 1 hour prior. Concluding graveside services and interment will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Blanding City Cemetery in Blanding, Utah where she will be laid to rest along side her husband, Robert.
