Delfin Thomas Chavez

Delfin Thomas Chavez, of Concho, entered eternal rest January 4, 2010 at home in Concho. He was 65. Delfin was born December 20, 1945 in Concho, AZ to the late Abel and Rosa (Martinez) Chavez. A lifelong resident of Concho, Delfin always stayed busy with his various mechanical projects as well as his favorite pastime, fishing. He is survived by his girlfriend of 14 years, Mary Poland of Concho; a son, Roy Chavez of Mesa; daughters, Mercy Cordova of Concho, Mary Martinez of Tucson, Rita Zacharias of Phoenix and Diane Chavez of Phoenix; 6 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2 sisters and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the St. Rita's Catholic Church, 1400 E. Owens, Show Low with the Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00PM Friday, January 8, 2010 also at the church. Interment will be in the Concho Cemetery in Concho.
