Bradley Jenks Carlson

Bradley Jenks Carlson, 41, beloved son, husband, and father, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009. At the time of his passing Bradley was living his dream of being a rocket scientist, working for NASA as a space engineer. A resident of Titusville, FL for the past five years, Bradley has been employed in the aerospace industry since 1995. He loved spending time with his wife and six children, playing board and video games and going to the beach. He also coached his children's volleyball teams through the YMCA. Bradley was a member and former president of KSC Toastmasters Club 3695; and loved public speaking and debating. He formerly taught high school math and science. Bradley's life goal was to retire and own an antique bookstore, write a book and pursue photography. Bradley was serving as the Bishop of the Titusville Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served in a variety of church capacities, including Ward Mission Leader, Ward Clerk, High Councilor, Elders Quorum President and Young Men's Leader. We will miss his sense of humor, his love of conversation, his smile and the love he showed his family and friends and those with whom he worked with. Brad is survived by his wife, Beckie; his six children, Maegan, Jared, Thorin, Sarah, Ethan, and Benjamin; his parents, David Jenks and Sherry Dawn Carlson; brother, Jeff, and sister Rachelle; inlaws, Robert and Louise Laux, of Mesa, AZ; brother in law, Robby Laux of Tucson,sister in laws, Rachel Beecroft of Queen Creek, and Rhea Laux of Mesa. Brad's wife Beckie is the granddaughter of Rex and Annabelle Shumway of Mesa. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2000 South St. Titusville, Florida. Graveside Services and Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, AZ. A trust fund has been set up at Washington Mutual for Bradley's children.
