Hazel Marie Memmott Brewer returned home on July 5, 2006, at the age of 78. With humble hearts, we pay tribute to the matriarch of our family. Hazel Marie was born in Colonial Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico, on February 18, 1928, the daughter of Joseph Fletcher and Nilus Stowell Memmott. She had fond memories of growing up in Mexico and was devoted to helping the Spanish people throughout her life. She attended Brigham Young University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education while raising six children, who were the joy of her life. She moved to Snowflake, Arizona, and enjoyed many years of teaching. She married Reece Lorenzo Brewer and they served a LDS mission to Hawaii. Her life has been filled with service to her family and friends. The lives she touched are innumerable. She served in many different church callings and set a beautiful example of living a Christ-centered life. She is survived by her loving husband and six children - Randy (Robyn) Baum, Russ (Joyce) Baum, Ed (Renae) Baum, Bob (Jennifer) Baum, Mariann Bradbury, and Susan (Richard) Norman. She is survived by 28 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, 5 step-children, Pamela (Gary) Ferrin, Patricia (Steve) Von Haden, Terri (Don) Hamilton, Penny (Corey) Just and Michael (Ruth) Brewer and 14 step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Fletcher (Frances) Memmott, Larry (Shirley) Memmott, John (Joyce) Memmott, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved, even as her own children. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Aileen (Wesley) Bowman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Snowflake Main Street Chapel. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake, and Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in the Snowflake Cemetery.
