Gerald Bonito, 44, of Whiteriver, passed away November 12, 2006. He was born in McNary and grew up and attended school there until his family moved to Whiteriver in 1971. Following school he went to work for the BIA as a Firefighter. He remained employed there until the time of his death. He enjoyed horseshoes and liked to play in basketball tournaments. He was a member of the North Fork Choir and loved to fish. Gerald is survived by his daughters, Tashina, Geralyn, and Farrah; his mother, Melissa Bonito; sister Vickey Bonito; brothers Leon, Ronald, Gilbert, Marcus, Chester, and Eddie; step-brother Lane Tonay; grandchildren Antuan Altaha, Ajami Altaha, Jamissa Altaha, and J'Kwon Gerold Bonito; many nieces and nephews. A wake will begin on Saturday, November 18th at 10 am at the Bonito home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20th at 10 am at the Memorial Hall. Interment will be at Whiteriver Cemetery Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
