Mary Magdalene Bennett

Mary Magdalene Bennett died early Monday morning, October 26, 2009 at Webb's Adult Care Home in Snowflake, Arizona following a lengthy illness. She was 77 years old. She was born on March 8, 1932 in Clarksburg, Kentucky to the late William A. and Martha Myrtle (Oliver) Markel. Mary moved to Arizona from her native Kentucky more than 62 years ago. She graduated from Parker High School in 1952. Following her marriage she became, and was, a devoted homemaker to her family throughout her life. Mary is survived by her children: William "Bill" McCarty (Patricia) of Snowflake, Arizona, Cynthia Hoeppner (Curtis) of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter-in-law, Julie McCarty of Carlsbad, New Mexico; brother, Joe Markel (Susan) of Carlsbad, New Mexico; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bennett in 2002; son, Steve McCarty in May of 2009 and by 1 grandson. Private family services will be held. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona.
