Marion C. Bemiller passed away peacefully at his home in Show Low on Friday July 6th after a long period of declining health. He was born on July 14, 1922 in Pasadena, California to George and Zylpha (Hobson) Bemiller. Marion attended Alhambra High School graduating in 1941. During the war years, Marion, who contracted polio in his legs as a young boy was unable to serve, however he stilled helped the war effort working in the defense industry. In 1943 he married Doris Ranney, and they lived in Temple City, California raising two children, Kay and Ray. Marion was dedicated and concerned for his family. He made it a point to spend time with his children, participating as an adult leader in church youth groups and Indian Guide. Marion learned painting from his father, and for his working life, he was a painting contractor in Southern California. He developed skills in mixing paints for exact colors and in creating special effects, like antique finishes. He also found no challenge to great, even painting a church steeple from a ladder one time. Marion came to saving faith as a Christian after the loss of their first child. He was a believer for 62 years, serving in San Gabriel Union Church for 25 years, Rivera Baptist Church in Bullhead for 21 years and New Hope Christian Fellowship here in Show Low for 16 years. Giving of his time, talent and treasure to the Lord's work was his greatest pleasure. He and Doris took the trip of a lifetime to Israel in 1979. He talked about it often, and especially, taking communion at "The Empty Tomb". Marion loved to fish, and it was this hobby that brought them to the White Mountains. Then in 1992 they permanently moved to Show Low, buying a mobile home in Park Valley. Even though his family and friends rejoice that he is home in heaven, he will be deeply missed. Marion leaves behind his wife, Doris; daughter, Kay; son, Ray; 6 grandchildren, David Cox, Joe Cox, Anna Cox, Quinton Bemiller, Taylor Bemiller and Audra Bemiller; 5 great grandchildren, along with many friends. Memorial Services will be held at his Church's meeting place, 701 S. 8th Ave. in Show Low at 4:00 P.M. Sunday July 22.
