Sharon Lee Balzer, 65, of Lakeside, Arizona, passed away, January 11,2007 in Phoenix. Mrs. Balzer, the owner of Sharon's High and Dried Floral Design Studio, was born September 4, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up and attended school there until she was 10, when her family moved to Pleasant Hill, California. They remained there for about six years before moving to Scottsdale. Sharon graduated from Scottsdale High School, as a member of The National Honor Society in 1959. Following high school she attended ASU where she majored in journalism. Following school she worked as an executive secretary for ITT/Canon and it was there that she met Roger Balzer in 1967, they were married in 1968, and they made their home in Phoenix where she was a homemaker. In 1998 Sharon and Roger retirned to Lakeside and she opened her Floral Design Studio. She worked for about five years, before retiring in 2003.She was a charter member and founding board member of the Arts Alliance of the White Mountains. Sharon was proud of her Greek heritage and was a wonderful cook. Sharon is survived by her husband, Roger P. Balzer, one son Nick (Denise) of Murrieta, California. Her mother Doris P. Zoitos also of Murrieta, California, her grandchildren, Christopher, Katie, and Amy, her great-grandchildren, Faith and Grace. Mayo Blvd Phoenix, Arizona 85054. Memorial services will be held, 10:00 am, Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Owens Mortuary in Show Low with Pastor John Zimmerman of the First Baptist Church in Pinetop officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Inman, Kansas.
